Lincolnshire-soils: A self-portrait, 2017 is a portrayal of Adele Elizabeth Martin’s familial connections with the soils of south Lincolnshire. The piece was created in 2017 using a combination of silt, soil, photographs, magazine clippings as well as personal writing. The piece aimed at telling a story about Adele’s journey from a horticultural background to becoming an artist. The piece holds the essence of a performance, the lines, cracks, and creases within the material want to be viewed and experienced whilst the photographs and text tell a story of the artists family history.
